Alaska Adventure

6 September, 2018 @ 20:00 - 22:00

Guest speaker Paul Whittle will start his talk with a trip on the ‘Rocky Mountaineer’ train across western Canada to Vancouver. Then continue with a voyage up the Inside Passage to three ports in Alaska, a visit to The Yukon by train and finally a dramatic rescue by the US Coast Guard.
Purchased by the USA from Russia in 1867, Alaska is famed for its natural resources, wide open spaces, glaciers and varied wildlife. In the late 19th century it witnessed a huge gold rush and in more recent times immense oil deposits have made it even richer.

The meeting will take place in the Vice President Lounge.
All visitors welcome.
