Maggie Adamson talk (+TEAMS)

Maggie Adamson, Shetlander, Commercial Skipper. Professional Musician and volunteer Lifeboat Crew with the Lerwick Lifeboat is returning for her second talk at Sutton Mariners. She's never far from her fiddle so no doubt there will be a few tunes as well as sailing stories. This year Maggie has taken time out from skippering The Swan and will be at the helm of Gavin Howe’s Swan 76 Tigris for charter trips around the UK and surrounding waters. So Maggie has replaced one Swan with another, and it looks like the second will be a tad more luxurious than the first! The Swan, named Sail Training Vessel of the Year by UK Sail Traing and the MCA, took part in the Tall Ships last year, so between that, Maggie's RNLI volunteering, the upcoming year in charge of a 76 foot top-tier cruiser and some exemplary fiddle playing, this week at the Mariners will be one you don't want to miss!

Sailing Questions

Questions primarily relating to navigational issues, the environment in which we sail and the relevant sailing bodies, interspersed with two or three questions on significant sailing events. We will be in teams, but the emphasis will be on reminding ourselves, rather than achieving a high score, i.e. it will not be a quiz as such. by Derek

The Green Blue – RYA Presentation (+TEAMS)

Webinar starts at 19:30 with big room available from 19:00 The Green Blue is the joint environment programme developed by the RYA and British Marine. Launched in 2005, its mission is to promote a sustainable leisure marine sector in the UK. As a boating community we enjoy getting out on the water and experiencing the beautiful environment around us. We therefore play an important role in helping to protect our marine and inland waters to safeguard the wildlife and habitats with which we share our boating environment.

Visitors are welcome on any Thursday club night held at the VBS Community Stadium
